Tilda - Songbird Fat Eight Bundle - 20 pcs each 10" X 19"
A trip to Venice inspired the Songbird collection, which references the Art Nouveau style. The hand-drawn patterns of Songbird are a sweet nod to the more elaborate designs of Art Nouveau, and it has been fun to try to recreate the feel and look in a lighter, naiver way, especially in the Cora, Aubrey, and Songbird designs. The color palette has a light, dusty-pastel feel that is not typical for the 1900s, but I wanted to tone down the busy patterns and give the collection a soft, watercolor-like effect. This collection is for those who love light, delicate pieces and is perfect for spring and summer. When thinking about this time in history, where I’m sure there were hardships, my mind nonetheless goes to soirées, with ladies in lovely dresses amid columned gardens surrounded by dragonflies and butterflies, which are motifs much used in Art Nouveau.
